If you visit Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada there is a hidden gem in the suburbs! Located in Bedford, Scott Manor house with built in 1770 next to the old Fort Sackville site. I was thrilled when the Fort Sackville Foundation contacted me to photograph their property and archives for their new website last summer. Be sure to visit them at : https://scottmanor.ca/
The Fort Sackville site was a British fort constructed at the same time as the Halifax Citadel because of its location at the mouth of the historic Sackville River and its view of Halifax. Its main purpose at the time was to prevent attacks from the French, Acadian, and the Mi'kmaq indigenous peoples on Halifax. Today, it still remains as the best view of the Bedford Basin and is rich in History and Beauty!
Be sure to grab yourself a tea during your visit :)
