Just two days into 2020 I walked into our local Henrys store and plopped down a pile of cash for a Nikon D850 that I had been saving up for! "Woohoo" I stated "what a great start to the year!"
You see, 2020 was going to be our busiest year to date just as 2019 had been, or rather - still is! At the beginning of 2020 I had a booked up wedding season and several large cooperate events all in the schedule. Added to that I was headed to Cuba to soak up the sun!
It was about two weeks after we returned from Cuba that the world started looking like a different place. When all was said and done, all of my events were cancelled and only two weddings remained for the year. Alison and Matt had decided early on to roll with the restrictions in place no matter what they were. Thankfully, their wedding date worked out to be in a window that some restrictions had eased. With another wedding cancelled at the hotel we ended up having the entire 2nd floor function rooms of the Weston for both the wedding ceremony and reception.
After the ceremony, the outside of the hotel was a wind tunnel but with our planning and some degree of luck our chosen park location had minimal wind and perfect light! Thanks to Alison and Matt for, not only just rolling with the day, but making Pam and I part of your big day during such a crazy time in life! It was my first time covering a wedding reception with a mask and a perfect test of my new camera :)
